"A picture is worth 1000 words." Did you know that it takes around 8-10 minutes for the average brain to process 1000 words? However, a person can efficiently and deeply comprehend an image, such as a piece of artwork, in 13 milliseconds! The brain can also critically analyze sounds and music in around 1000 milliseconds! At Scores Raising Scores Academy (SRSA), we have designed an innovative, Christian-based, Classical curricula which uses the multi-sensory power of the brain to effectively process information through the arts. SRSA is a 32-week online program for middle and high school students which utilizes the humanities to bring history to life. Created by an orchestral composer and a homeschooling mom, SRSA uses paintings, architecture, music, and other artforms to better interpret real life throughout world history. Because the brain was created by God to process multi-sensory information efficiently, SRSA efficiently interweaves four credit hour courses: (1) World History, (2) Art/Music History, (3) English, and (4) Rhetoric into one program. SRSA can be effectively accomplished in only 2-3 hours of daily study. Also, students who have completed our program have been highly successful in college and trade schools! Join us at SRSA!
SRSA uses artistic primary sources (painting, art, architecture, music, etc.) as a window into world history.
The brain processes multi-sensory information efficiently, and multi-sensory learning improves mental connections.
Our SRSA Curricula is designed to allow parents and students to work at their own pace.
SRSA students regularly begin to ask “But, why?” As a result, they develop lifelong love for learning.
At SRSA, we guide students through weekly activities which ethically use Artificial Intelligence.
At SRSA, we hone students’ critical thinking skills through presentations, Socratic dialogues, and Analyzing the Arts assignments.
Because the brain was designed by God to resourcefully process multi-sensory information, the arts allow students to learn more efficiently. They earn four credit hours: (1) World History, (2) Art/Music History, (3) English, and (4) Rhetoric in about 2-3 hours daily.
At SRSA, our innovative computer program allows students to learn from classical educators without requiring additional training for parents or leaders.
Students who have completed our SRSA program are highly successful in college, in trade schools, and in the work force.
SRSA generates a high school transcript, creates a legal portfolio, and develops a daily log which satisfies all legal documents for yearly state evaluations.
Because many homeschooling students struggle with testing, SRSA was designed to teach students how to prepare for and successfully take blue book and multiple choice tests.
Through a monthly subscription of $34.99 per month or a one-time purchase of $299, students will receive 32 weeks of lessons which accomplish all four humanities credits: (1) World History, (2) Art/Music History, (3) English, and (4) Rhetoric.
Below Andrea Duncan explains how a student’s week is
completed at SRSA.
Below is a sample of two weeks of SRSA Lessons, Week 1 and Week 29. Parents and students can experience where SRSA begins and ends in the first year.

In most middle and high school courses, a World History student will study ancient Greece. In most courses, the student reads a textbook about ancient Greece. Then, a teacher lectures about Greek politics, Greek gods, and ancient learning. However, at SRSA we critically analyze the humanities and history suddenly comes to life! Students begin to ask questions such “Why did a specific event occur? Who was involved? Why would a person behave in a specific way? ...” In other words, the humanities reveal the human side of history.
Can I see an example of how the humanities bring history to life?
At SRSA, we use paintings, architecture, literature, music, sculpture, and other humanities to bring history to life! Let's examine an example of using multi-sensory artistic sources as a way to better understand life in ancient Greece. Instead of listening to a lecture, students might view the Temple of Apollos. At SRSA, we ask, “Who was Apollos? Where was this temple located? Why did they worship here? How did architects create a structure that lasted for thousands of years? Where did they worship? Where did they go to the bathroom? Where were slaves kept?” Suddenly, history comes to life!!
